During CES 2021, which, we recall, was held in virtual mode, or if you prefer in the absence of the public, the French startup MACA presented what was for them the future of high-performance vehicle races; the S11, the First Hydrogen Flight Formula 1.

The choice of having a hydrogen-powered vehicle is due to the need to have a vehicle with high performance, limited weight and zero pollution.

Behind the MACA S11 are two flight veterans, well known in France, former fighter pilot Thierry de Boisvilliers and former Airbus executive Michael Krollak.

As mentioned, the MACA S11 is hydrogen powered and has aerodynamics similar in some respects to that of a Formula 1 car.
According to MACA, the S11 is expected to reach a (theoretical) maximum speed of 153 mph (246 km / h) thanks to six 35 kW (47 hp) engines.

The prototype is expected to measure 5 meters (16.4 feet) in length and weigh around 600 kg (1,322 lbs) and have room for a single rider / passenger.
The company is currently hoping to produce a working prototype by the end of 2023.
