Hydroseeding Material Load Mixing Unit

Step 1. Fill the unit about 3/4 full of water.
Step 2. Start the engine. Let the engine run for 30 seconds before adding material to make sure everything is operating properly before adding material. If your unit has a bale buster open that valve and close all other valves, If your unit doesn’t have a bale buster open the agitation valve all the way and close the valve going to the discharge hose.
Step 3. Add the proper amount of hydroseeding mulch for your machine. Mulch should always be loaded before the seed and fertilizer.
Step 4. Add any other materials you are going to add such as seed, fertilizer and tackifier.
Step 5. If you have a bale buster close the bale buster valve and open the agitation valve all the way.
Step 5. Top off the tank with water. The best mixing is with the tank completely full but you can mix partial loads quite easily when you need to.
Step 6. Let the unit mix until all clumps of mulch are gone. Typically this only takes a minute or two. Close the agitation valve about half way and open the valve going to the discharge hose and start spraying.
Step 7. When you have sprayed most of the material and have about 6″ of material left in the tank you may start pulling air. Close the agitation valve all the way and you can spray with excellent power until the tank is virtually totally empty.
Step 1. Fill the unit about 3/4 full of water.
Step 2. Start the engine. Engage the pump and let it run for 30 seconds before adding material to make sure everything is operating properly before adding material. Then disengage the pump. IMPORTANT. DO NOT RUN THE PUMP WHILE MIXING. With a jet machine clumps will float. With a paddle machine the paddles can pull clumps to the bottom of the tank and into the suction lines causing a clog.
Step 3. Engage the paddles. You may want to run the engine at about half throttle to slow the impellers while you add material.
Step 4. Add the proper amount of hydroseeding mulch for your machine. Just remove the plastic wrap and you can drop full bales into the machine. Mulch should always be loaded before the seed and fertilizer.
Step 5. Add any other materials you are going to add such as seed, fertilizer and tackifier.
Step 6. Top off the tank with water and run the engine at full RPM with the paddles still engaged.
Step 6. Let the unit mix until all clumps of mulch are gone. Typically this only takes a minute or two.
Step 7. Open the bypass valve all the way and engage the pump. Leave the paddles engaged. Close the bypass about half way and you can now start spraying. Do not engage the pump with the bypass valve totally closed since the surge of pressure can blow out the hose. Typically you should have excellent spray power with the bypass closed half way. Closing the valve more increases power but should you close it all the way it is best to have someone near the machine to open the bypass should you stop spraying (this is for any unit with the Bowie positive displacement gear pump and does not apply to Hybrid units.)
